Prof. Sylvia Temu
Prior to joining the Ministry, Dr. Temu served as Deputy Vice Chancellor In charge of Research at the University of Dar es Salaam, where she was an academic staff for exactly 30 years. As a Professor in Business Management, she has conducted research and taught in the areas of Accounting and Finance, Small Business and Project Management, and Strategic Planning. Her leadership experience in higher education includes being in charge of university finances and strategic planning as the Director of Planning and Finance, University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM); as the Director of UDSM Consultancy Bureau, Deputy Director UDSM Centre for Continuing Education as well as Head of the department of Accounting at UDSM Business School. In addition to consulting, her corporate experience include serving as a Director in various Boards including the National Board of Accountants and Auditors, UNESCO Finance and Administrative Committee, CRDB Bank Plc, Standard Chartered Bank Tanzania, Public Procurement Regulatory Authority as well as in diverse Universities' Senates and Councils. She has published on accounting and finance, and small business management topics and authored a textbook on Auditing.
