The history of private law shows an evolution from unity to diversity, both geographically and methodically. From a geographical point of view, the unity of the ius commune has disintegrated into the diversity of national systems of private law (with the Europeanization of national private law as a turning point). From a methodological point of view, the autonomy of jurisprudence is the result of a process of differentiation (external and internal) that leads to legal dogmatics as the core of jurisprudence (externalization of other approaches outside jurisprudence and to separate the social sciences).
