I will empower farmers with climate smart knowledge

On June 21 2025 I graduated with a Master of Science in Climate Smart Agriculture from Haramaya University in Ethiopia, a milestone made possible by the life changing ACE scholarship I received from the Inter University Council for East Africa (IUCEA).

Studying at the Africa Centre of Excellence for Climate Smart Agriculture and Biodiversity Conservation (ACE Climate SABC) transformed my life. I gained knowledge in climate smart agriculture, built a professional network with peers from other African countries, and I grew to love Ethiopia’s rich culture and food. I am deeply grateful to my advisors, Dr. Tibebu Bezabih and Mr. Mohammed Aman, and the unwavering support from the ACE Climate SABC. The guidance I received helped me overcome challenges and made me graduate on time, a goal that once felt impossible.

With the expertise and experience that I have gained, I am committed to uplifting rural communities. Smallholder farmers bear the brunt of climate change, and I will dedicate myself to helping them adapt. I aim to join a leading agricultural or environmental institution to scale this impact through teaching future generations while engaging directly with communities. Ultimately, I plan to pursue a PhD to expand my contributions to Climate Smart Agriculture.
