Inaugural Africa Centers of Excellence International Partnerships Workshop to Foster Collaboration in Research, Innovation and Private Sector Engagement
The Africa Centers of Excellence (ACE) International Partnerships Workshop starts today May 8-10, 2024, InterContinental Resort, Balaclava, Mauritius. This landmark event, themed “Building Pathways Towards Sustainability through Collaborative Research and Innovation,” will provide a platform to forge new partnerships, reinforce existing ones, and deepen strategies aimed at strengthening the sustainability of the ACE initiative.
The workshop is a culmination of the strategic collaboration between the African Union (AU), European Union (EU), World Bank, French Development Agency (AFD), Association of African Universities (AAU), Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA), and other key partners. It underscores the importance of regional and cross-continental cooperation in tackling the multifaceted issues in the region’s priority areas of health, agriculture, environment, science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), applied social sciences, and education. In alignment with the AU-EU Innovation Agenda adopted in July 2023, the workshop will amplify research and innovation cooperation between Africa and other continents and will harness the technical capacities resident in the centers of excellence to foster innovations to advance society while elevating existing relations to comprehensive and strategic partnerships.
The meeting is hybrid at InterContinental Resort, Balaclava, Mauritius and online. To participate virtually visit this link https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZAlcuqtqjIuHdy5uQULBMpwdRsjw0QLcIsP
